 1.   Engaging Businesses

We promote and encourage ways that target groups can network, mainstream their services and collaborate with other main stream companies. Local businesses themselves possess solutions to overcoming many of the barriers to business development in disadvantaged areas. Local business forums and traders associations can take practical steps to promote collaboration and, with public agencies, tackle problems, e.g. with crime, corruption and skills supply. Many large companies support economic and social initiatives in areas where they operate, e.g., providing mentors and trading opportunities for small companies and promoting employee volunteering. We extend such activities into new frontiers.

2.   Local Strategies

We link up and support international and local bodies in co-ordinating their activities to promote skills, enterprise and business development in the area, and make sure that services reach wider communities.

3.   Improving Quality of Service

We run seminars to ensure that investors, target groups and partner agencies understand the needs of different types of businesses in the area.

  • Promote and publicise the support services available to them
  • Work to ensure that referral services are of high quality, no matter where our clients enter these other ‘business support system’
  • Mentor target group to achieve quality marks
  • Provide complimentary services packaged to ensure that a whole service is available – so that, e.g., businesses needing finance have also access to advice and training to help them maximise the return on the money and reduce the risk for the lender.

4.   Investment Retention

We promote close links between local employers, communities and local partner agencies in order to ensure that skills and entrepreneurship are retained in the area.

We draw ‘Project Management Committee’ from amongst its beneficiaries. Their functions will include to:

  • To inform and influence the contents and delivery of the project
  • Ensure the monitoring and evaluation of project
