Football in African Schools: A Health Education Intervention.
Children around the world love football. This is more so for children in Africa as they demonstrate their love for the game by using nearly anything feasible to set up a play ground and enjoy the game.
In our regular interaction in the area delivering our charitable objectives, several communities and schools approach us and ask for assistance in promoting the game in their area. This is why we are asking you for assistance by donating to us football and physical exercises kits. In fact, the African communities ask for assistance with:
- Training and coaching to develop their football skills
- Football and Exercise kits
- Contacts with external football specialists to support young people’s dreams of becoming professional football players.
This is how African Children currently play football.
Life is tough for young people in African communities especially if they are not in formal education. Our project aims to take children off the streets; make physical exercise (playing foot ball) accessible to many; reading and educational materials available to thousands of school children in any area. We will work with local schools, colleges and stake holders in the process. Project will benefit over 20 000 children, pupils, students and adults in a year.
Our Football Project gives children something fun to do and somewhere safe to go, where they keep out of danger and trouble, along with building their confidence and self-esteem. This project will also help children to learn important skills in teamwork and discipline. They are encouraged in their talents and know that they have someone who believes in them and their dreams.
We will hold regular football matches between different groups and other organisations in the areas. These matches will be great ways for the children to make new friends and build their confidence, teamwork and self-esteem.
